    After being nominated for eviction by Jason Guy, the seventh Head of Household, Gerald Lancaster was evicted from the BIG BROTHER 3 house based on an unanimous vote during last night's live show. Jason also nominated Amy Crews. Jason won the Power of Veto and chose to leave the nominations as they stood.
  • Original host returns to 'Change of Heart'

    Zap2It.com reports that Chris Jagger, who hosted the "Change of Heart" syndicated dating show for its first three seasons before departing last year, will return to the series this fall. When the show moved production from Los Angeles to New York last season, Jagger, whose day job is as a DJ in Dallas, opted not to go with it. Lynne Koplitz served as the host last season.
  • Bunim-Murray Productions working with FOX to develop 'Green Acres' reality TV show

    Reuters reports that days after news broke that CBS was planning a reality-series revival of "The Beverly Hillbillies," the FOX network said it is working with 'The Real World' producers Bunim-Murray Productions to develop a nonfiction comedy that mirrors another hickfest: "Green Acres."
  • 'Idol' Talent Race Reaches Fever Pitch on Fox, draws 16+ million viewers

    Reuters reports that the frenzy surrounding television hit "American Idol" reached fever pitch late on Wednesday as the Fox TV talent search narrowed its list of contenders to the soulful Kelly Clarkson and hunky Justin Guarini in front of millions of prime time viewers. In the course of the contest, "American Idol: The Search for a Superstar" has won some of the summer's highest viewer ratings and on Wednesday attracted its biggest audience yet.
  • 'Star Search' to ride retro wave at CBS

    Variety reports that with Fox's "American Idol" surging to its first season finale next week, CBS is bringing back the classic syndicated variety/talent hunt series that started it all: "Star Search." The network has ordered nine episodes of an updated take on the show, which is being targeted for a midseason 2003 bow.
  • CBS resurrecting "The Beverly Hillbillies" as a reality series

    Reuters reports that CBS talent scouts are fanning out across the backwoods of America in search of a rural, rustically telegenic family willing to star in a new reality show inspired by "The Beverly Hillbillies" -- with cement pond (swimming pool) and all. The half-hour, weekly show, tentatively titled "The Real Beverly Hillbillies," is being developed for a mid-season or summer launch next year.

  • 'Big Brother 3' scores highest Thursday ratings

    CBS has announced that the August 22nd edition of 'Big Brother 3 Thursday' (6.2/11, 9.64m) had it's best delivery of the summer in households, adults 18-49 and adults 25-54 -- and was first in adults 25-54, boomers, men 25-54, women 25-54 and 18-49 and second in households, viewers and adults 18-34. The episode grew at 8:30 PM, up +5% in households, +21% in adults 18-34, +15% in adults 18-49, +11% in adults 25-54 and added 390,000 viewers (9.83m from 9.44m).

  • "Celebrity Boot Camp" special airs September 30

    Variety reports that a 2-hour special "Celebrity Boot Camp" will air on Fox at 8 PM on Sept. 30, 2002. This is the latest in a current wave of "celebrity" reality shows, including the current "Survivor UK 3" and the upcoming "Mole 3: Celebrity Mole," which will air on ABC in either January or March of 2003.
  • 'Push, Nevada' premieres in a special preview, Tuesday, September 17th

    Ben Affleck, Oscar-winning co-writer of "Good Will Hunting," and Sean Bailey, his executive-producing partner on the Emmy-nominated hit "Project Greenlight," take another bold step in the re-invention of modern entertainment with the provocative and offbeat mystery series "Push, Nevada," premiering in a special preview, TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 17 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET). Matt Damon and Chris Moore are also executive producers on the series, which will move to its regular day and time THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 (9:00-10:00 p.m., ET), on the ABC Television Network.
  • Despite her elimination, Tamyra Gray lands record contract

    USA Today reports that Tamyra Gray may have been eliminated from American Idol last week, but she got a vote of confidence from the producer of the show: It picked up an option to manage the 23-year-old singer. "This girl is a star," says Tom Ennis of 19 Entertainment. "She has a very bright future."

  • MTV to film second edition of 'Sorority Life' -- also adds spinoff 'Fraternity Life' series

    BuffaloNews.com reports that MTV has ordered a second edition of 'Sorority Life' and will be filming it at a University of Buffalo sorority. An addition, a new second series called "Fraternity Life' -- featuring you guessed it, fraternity brothers -- will be filmed on the same campus. An MTV spokeswoman declined to comment, saying final agreements have yet to be signed, however sources say a formal announcement is expected next week.
  • Phil Keoghan & Alex McLeod ('Trading Places') to co-host new A&E travel show

    The A&E Network has announced that 'The Amazing Race' host Phil Keoghan and former 'Trading Spaces' host Alex McLeod will serve as hosts of the A&E Special Presentation 'Best Of Both Worlds.' 'Best Of Both Worlds' will air in first quarter of 2003.

Chiara also nominated her new boyfriend, Roddy Mancuso. Lisa Donahue won the Power of Veto and chose to leave the nominations as they stood. During last night's live broadcast, Josh, the scheming waiter from Merrick, N.Y., learned his fate, said his good-byes and left the house. After leaving BIG BROTHER 3, Josh was interviewed by Julie Chen about his experience and was reunited with his girlfriend Merritt.

  • 'Mole 2' season finale produces ABC's highest rating in hour among adults 18-34 in 9 months

    ABC has anounced that the season finale of "Mole II: The Next Betrayal" produced ABC's highest rating in the time period among Adults 18-34 (3.9/11) in 9 months (since 11/06/01) with entertainment programming. In addition, the series delivered the Network's best performance in the time-slot with Men 18-34 (3.6/11) in nearly 1 year (since 9/25/01) with entertainment programming. The ABC reality series attracted 7.4 million viewers and a 3.5 rating, 10 share with Adults 18-49, placing a solid second to Fox's "American Idol" on both measures.

    All season long, fans of 'The Mole 2' have been wondering if Anderson Cooper was or was not aware of the identity of the mole during the filming of the series. In a recent interview with the Indianapolis Star, Anderson finally confirmed what most fans had suspected - -that ass in the first series, he once again did not know the mole's secret identity. "I did not figure it out until the last second," he said in a telephone interview, "and it was really more that one of the producers I was driving with to the final quiz let something slip. I only realized based on what they said."

"We are definitely considering it," ABC alternative programming chief Andrea Wong said. "It's performed well for us this summer against strong competition. And it's an even better show than it was before."

The July 30th episode of the ABC reality series placed a solid second to Fox's "American Idol" on both measures, easily beating NBC's comedies ("Frasier"/"Scrubs" - 7.1 million & 2.9/9) and CBS "The Guardian" (7.0 million & 1.6/5).

    BanishJosh.com is claiming to have gotten a reply from Josh's Los Angeles roomate regarding the Hermando Today newspaper's earlier report about Josh's of personal injury lawsuit. While the details of this issue obviously are a matter of debate -- one issue certainly doesn't seem to be, namely that once again CBS is making liberal use of the contestants reputed "place of residence." Previously living in Florida... currently living in Los Angeles and working at Dodger Stadium -- clearly Josh isn't recently residing anywhere near Long Island, New York.
  • FOX snaps up the rights to three more overseas reality TV series, including a possible successor to 'American Idol'

    Variety reports that Fox has snapped up the rights to three reality TV formats, including a talent boot camp series that's a logical successor to summer smash "American Idol." The trio are from Dutch production powerhouse Endemol, which already has successful shows in place at CBS ("Big Brother 3") and NBC ("Fear Factor," "Spy TV").
